LATAM Leadership Forum Brings Karaoke and Latin Music to SPIN Chicago

By Paul Michaels Events

When you combine a great group of people, a fun Chicago venue, Latin music, and karaoke, you never quite know where the night is going to go. For the LATAM Leadership Forum’s 2026 offsite celebration, the answer was simple: everyone ended up singing, dancing, and having a great time.

The group gathered at SPIN Chicago in downtown Chicago on March 4 for an intimate evening, and Paul Michaels Events was brought in to provide the entertainment and karaoke. It turned out to be a perfect match.

The Right DJ for the Crowd

DJ/MC Grant was a natural fit for this event. A Miami native, Grant knows Latin music and brings an energy that works especially well with a group ready to have some fun. He also speaks enough Spanish to connect with Spanish-speaking guests and help make everyone feel comfortable getting involved.

For a karaoke event, that connection is important. The goal isn't simply to put a microphone in front of someone and play a song. A good karaoke DJ knows how to get people comfortable, encourage the first few singers, keep the energy moving, and make everyone want to be part of the action.

That is exactly what happened at SPIN.

Once the First Person Sang, Everyone Was Ready

Every karaoke party has that moment when someone has to be brave enough to go first.

Once the first singer took the microphone at the LATAM Leadership Forum event, the ice was officially broken. From there, the karaoke list stayed full for the rest of the night.

Guests continued adding their names and choosing songs, and karaoke quickly became the main attraction. What started as one person getting up to sing turned into a steady stream of performances and a room full of people cheering each other on.

And there was plenty of dancing, too.

In fact, I personally don't know if I've ever seen that much dancing at a karaoke party. Usually, karaoke and dancing take turns being the center of attention. At this event, they seemed to happen at the same time.

SPIN Chicago Was a Great Fit

SPIN Chicago was an excellent venue for this particular gathering. The space was the right size for an intimate corporate event, allowing the entertainment to remain the focus without the room feeling too large.

And, of course, having two ping pong tables gave guests another way to enjoy themselves between songs.

The SPIN staff were also friendly and helpful throughout the evening. Several members of the staff even asked for business cards afterward, which is always a great sign that the event made an impression.

The combination of the venue, the group, and the entertainment created an atmosphere that felt more like a great night out with friends than a traditional corporate event.

Latin Music, Karaoke, and a Crowd Ready to Have Fun

One of the things we love about events like this is that you can't always predict what will happen once the music starts.

Our job is to provide the equipment, music, karaoke, and experience to get things moving. From there, it's about reading the room and responding to the guests.

For the LATAM Leadership Forum, the guests clearly came ready to participate. Grant's familiarity with Latin music helped set the tone, while the karaoke gave everyone an opportunity to become part of the entertainment.

And once people started singing, the energy took care of itself.

Planning a Corporate Karaoke Event in Chicago?

Karaoke can be a fantastic option for a corporate offsite, especially when you're looking for something more interactive than a traditional DJ setup. It gives guests something to participate in rather than simply something to watch.

The LATAM Leadership Forum's evening at SPIN Chicago was a great example. The group had the opportunity to sing their favorite songs, dance to music they loved, enjoy some friendly ping pong competition, and spend time together in a relaxed setting.

At Paul Michaels Events, we can help bring that same energy to your next corporate event. Whether you're planning an intimate offsite, a company celebration, or a larger event, we can customize the entertainment around your group.

And if your guests happen to love karaoke, be prepared: once that first person grabs the microphone, you may have a full song queue for the rest of the night.
